WOW what a fast, busy, crazy month May was.
It started off on 1st May. I was to fly out the next day with "C" to meet up with "N" and "B" (initials only to protect the guilty). C was with me in Sydney to attend a wedding. That night I got a call from N telling me that our flights to Cairns the next morning were cancelled. I am still yet to receive that cancellation notice !!! Jetstar is to blame for all those wondering and wanting to avoid this situation.
So in the end and after alot of yelling by N (apparently) we all managed to arrive at our destination.
Hello Cairns!!! For those who don't know where this spot is - it is right at the top of Australia.
Cairns is tropical so it can be very humid and hot. We were lucky - not so humid and not so hot!Thanks to N and B we got awesome digs. Peppers on the beach. Before we had left I looked up all the best restaurants in the area and they were right at the hotel!!! Lucky us. Or maybe not so lucky.
This is the reception area. The view goes right out to the beach that you can't really see.
I have a thousand of these pics with that little island in the middle of nowhere.
That first night we walked along the beach and hung out on the pier hoping to get some good pictures.
This last one isn't so clear but for some reason I just love it!!!
And here are a couple of the food we ate. Don't be fooled - mine wasn't as good as it looked. But the drink was awesome. Cafe NuNu was a NoNo. {side note - the pic below was of some crepes with ricotta stuffing. It sounded nice on the menu and kind of looked nice but 3 MOUNDS of stuffing was way to much}
