Slacker

I know, I know. I am a terrible blogger. I have just been consumed with getting this new website up and running. Takes way to much more time than I ever thought but I hope it will all be worth it.

I want to still keep this site up and running as the website will be primarily for photos at this stage but it might be that I will merge the two later down the track. Will see how we go!

We have had Easter and my sister and her family were in town so you know what that means - photo time!

Florida - Part 2

So after all that eating and fun we decided to go south - further south than anyone (well most people) have been before!

We were off to the Keys! You know, it doesn't look that far.

It is.

Our base was Key Largo and that is the top of the chain of Keys. Beautiful. Hard to believe that you are on this narrow stretch of land and there is ocean as far as the eye can see (sea - hahahaha).

The next day we headed down to Key West - which is far south as you can go. That is even smaller than Key Largo but has SO many tourists and visitors. It was like a mad house. Lots of streets that are one way and narrow and busy and the homes are beautiful! Expensive but beautiful. Makes me wonder what people around there did to make money. Or maybe I don't want to know.......

Here are my favorite house shots. LOVE the colours. I couldn't get the whole house in but you get the general idea.

I just can't tell you how beautiful these homes were! They were all renovated and bought to life. Apparently there is a star that is awarded the home for keeping it in the style of Key West.

This is Ernest Hemingway's home. There were signs everywhere. He was quite the celebrity. The last pictures kills me.

And when you are in Key West you must visit this donger (well that is my name for it). I know, I looked thrilled to be there......

Funny story though - there is this grand old house built back in Noah's day (kidding but it was so old it may as well have been) and it had this sign up saying it was the "southernmost house in USA". Ok, that is fine. Move on down the road, another house and it had a sign saying "the southernmost southernmost house in the USA". Maybe you just had to be there .....

And another must do when you visit is to stay for the sunset. We had a cloudy day but it was still awesome.

We headed back to Key Largo and spent the WHOLE day just being a beach bum. You can do that, in the middle of winter when it is 80 degrees. Awesome I tell you! Again, another great sunset. I tried to be arty and get the sunset on my legs. I am not really that orange.

Thank you Florida for the best January I can remember in a long time!

Florida - Part 1

So - my pics and memories of Florida.

I have been here a few times because my sister lives here with her husband and little girls. But this time, we went for the wedding. That all being done with we were free to shop and eat and sleep and shop and then eat again. Ahhhh that is how life should really be! And money should grow on trees!

My niece Leilani had her 5th birthday while we were there. Her favourite aunty was in charge of the cakes - no one choked so I am guessing they were ok!

While we were in Orlando we just spent our time with my sister and shopped til we dropped and played with the girls. So much fun! I even got to take them and get some family photos done. I think this is my favourite. I crack up everytime I see it. The only person looking is the only male in the shot!

A couple of others - Grandpa and the girls spending time together.

Let's end this Part 1 of Florida on the food shots! We have the Cheesecake Factory and their raspberry chocolate mouse cheesecake......don't do it....... you will want to keep eating and eating!

Then we have the famous Disney caramel apples!

And last but not least - Ruth's Chris....

And there you have it! Stop licking the screen. I know I had to stop myself!
Stay tuned for the next exciting instalment of Florida Part II!

So Florida - I will blog more about my trip there and my thoughts on all things Florida later (before March hopefully!) but before that, I must share with you some photos of my beautiful nieces!

Why do they have to grow up???

When June comes - these three will be joined by another sibiling! Can't wait to meet her/him.

The Wedding

I cant believe it is all over! Christmas holidays are done. As is the wedding. I will post about the wedding and the vacation after this.

The wedding was beautiful. How did we get so lucky that it was the coldest week in Florida for the longest time. Oh well, at least the sun was shining!!

The reception was held at Ruth's Chris and it was awesome. The wait staff and the food were incredible and I would fly another 20 hours to get back there to have more food! It was that good.

So here are a few of the wedding shots that I took. They had my sister's sister-in-law take the professional shots and she did an awesome job. I just got some "on the sly" shots and here are the results.

So now they are a happily married couple!

2010

Ok, so I really slacked off there for a while but I am back!

So it was Christmas. This year we headed up north in the hopes of sun and relaxation. We didn't get much sun but there was a pool and a beach and gelato - and that was all we needed.

I got to play favourite aunt yet again.

Here are my beautiful Aussie nieces.

But for now - I am off to Florida for my brothers wedding! Stay tuned for some hopefully cool shots of the wedding and my beautiful nieces from Florida!

I hope you all had an awesome Christmas and looking forward to 2010 - I am hoping for big things!!!
